Equine Marketplace AU
Buyer & seller protection
Know what is protected—and what isn’t—before you buy, sell or book a service.
No marketplace reimbursement guarantee
Equine Marketplace AU does not offer escrow, transaction insurance, guaranteed refunds, verified-seller checks or compensation for a failed private sale or service booking. Payment and delivery for goods or services are arranged directly between users. A Featured, Priority, Top or Business label indicates advertising status, not a trusted or verified seller.
Safeguards available today
- Signed-in accounts and in-app conversations help you keep a written record of your agreement.
- Conversation access is restricted to its participants through the app; messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
- Stripe checkout is used for marketplace advertising fees. This does not protect a separate payment to a seller for gear or services.
Buying gear safely
- Ask for current photos, sizes, faults and proof of ownership. Inspect valuable items in person where possible.
- Be cautious of unusually low prices, urgency and requests to move to an unfamiliar payment link.
- Choose a payment method with applicable purchase protection and check its exclusions before sending money. A bank transfer may be difficult to recover.
- Agree delivery, tracking, condition and refund expectations in writing. Meet in a safe location and let someone know your plans.
Booking equine services
Check qualifications, professional registration where required, insurance and references yourself. Agree the service, total price, travel fees, dates, cancellation terms and horse-welfare expectations before paying a deposit. An ad is not an endorsement or veterinary advice.
Selling safely
- Confirm cleared payment in your own bank or payment app—not a screenshot or email—before handing over goods.
- Never pay a buyer’s courier fee or return an alleged overpayment until your payment provider confirms what happened.
- Describe faults accurately and retain photos, messages, receipts and dispatch evidence.
- Never share passwords, sign-in codes, full card details or identity documents in chat.
If something goes wrong
Stop sending money and save the ad link, messages and payment evidence. Contact the other party to resolve genuine misunderstandings. For suspected fraud, contact your bank or payment provider promptly; they decide whether any recovery or dispute rights apply. Report scams at scamwatch.gov.au and suspected cybercrime through cyber.gov.au/report. For immediate danger, call 000.
The marketplace’s working support address is still awaiting owner confirmation. There is currently no in-app report or block button, and no guaranteed marketplace dispute resolution. For platform advertising payment problems, keep your Stripe receipt and use the support details on it where available. Australian consumer rights may apply when buying from a business; private-sale rights differ.
